The BAKE outlet that they went in the morning.
Follow by visiting the Pablo store.
Initially they wanted me to go with them, but i was too lazy, though i get them to help me buy the bake tarts as well. I am perfectly fine to sleep alone in the hotel room. Haha.
When they came back, i just woke up not long ago, enjoying my only day that i don't have to wake up so early during our stay in Bangkok. The BAKE tarts & the Giant PABLO tarts.
Bought 3 boxes, 1 box each for us
After trying out both tarts, i think i would prefer Bake over Pablo. For Pablo, their mini tarts is nice but the texture of Pablo crust feel like u are eating some cereal bar taste compare to Bake tart crust which is softer. So i think i would favour BAKE over Pablo!
We went back to Pratunam market area to change some thai baht as we were running out of our baht again and wanted to change more just in case we have no more baht for our dinner tonight.
We saw the highly raved wanton mee that everyone was queuing up during the weekend, it was a long queue, but it was rather quiet on a monday, so we happily went in, wanted to try this wanton mee that everybody was blindly queuing up for.
There were many people inside this shop waiting for the wanton mee.
We were greatly disappointed after we had the wanton mee, limei did told me it was way too overrated but i wanted to try it for myself. Firstly, the staff were rather impatient, we saw them trying to tell the other group of customers that they have to start serving as soon as possible, and that they can't wait for one of their friends to reach first.
Second, after we placed our order, the food took damm long to be served. Its ok if the wanton mee is good, but the serving is in pathetic size and i wonder why anyone would waste their time to queue up for this wanton mee, i had once and that will be my last time.
I won't recommend anyone to try this wanton mee, this wanton mee is strictly not enough for a guy, and it took less than 5min to finish after close of waiting for about 30mins for the wanton mee to be served to us. We time JJ when he started eating his wanton mee. The bowl is big but the serving is small. Fine dining meh.
I took the shop photo as shown below for reference. If you decide to trust my words for it.
Of course, it's your own wish if you decided to try it for yourself, personally i find it too oily, small serving and its not even cheap! i think it cost like $4 per bowl.
even the Pontian wanton mee will taste better than this.
They even have the cheek to write on their signboard, one & only outlet, no franchise etc in any other countries. i mean duh, it would be strange if they actually able to open more than 1 outlet with such lousy wanton mee.
After the disappointing wanton mee, we went around to compare the thai baht rates before settling to change with one of the shop. The rates is lower if you change it in the mall or at the airport.
Before we make our way to Platinum mall, we went to buy green milk tea because JJ need his coffee fix, and this was nice! This coffeehouse is located just at the start when you are going to enter the pratunam market.
Green Milk tea that i tried and it was good! Not too sweet like the ones that i tried before in Singapore.
We change our thai baht just opposite this drink store. It's like the highest rate compared to other money changer available in that area.
We went to buy this Demi Concept ice-cream after our shopping at Platinum mall, this is good and i don't mind having this when i visit Bangkok again.
Even though its quite common to see everyone standing in front of this cart stall taking instagram worthy photo with this ice-cream.
It was very instagram worthy for a photo as we took several of it in front of their cart stall.
Price list for this ice-cream!
We were surprised they had the cornflakes at the bottom of the cone. Next time i want to try all charcoal color of the ice-cream! Haha
This Naraya store that we went in Central world was quite a huge store, there were all sorts of designs of the bag.
I was shopping with her and JJ was telling us if he know we gonna take so long, he would have buy himself a coffee and sit inside the starbucks using his phone. Hahaha. We spend more than 1 hour plus in the store because its huge. Personally, i am not a fan of Naraya.
But since it's like one of the must-buy, i spotted some pretty bag that i bought for Jeremy's mum and sister since i haven't get anything for them yet. I was texting Jeremy and showing him the photos of the bag to see if he know whether his mum or his sister will like the design.
I bought this for his mum because i noticed his mum usually wear a sling bag instead of tote bag.
This for her sister, as i thought it would be practical as it can store all the necessary stuff in this bag. especially if she want to bring her kid out.
Jieying happy with her naraya bags! She bought it for her mum, sister i think.
After our shopping at Naraya, i was tired, and i wanted to skip Chinatown because our baht were really running low. Hahaha, i was going to buy more siam banana the next day before we head for airport. JJ was saying it would be a pity if we skipped Chinatown since we do not know if we will come back anytime soon.
This $$ tells JY she need it badly!
So we took the BTS and alight at Saphan Takin station and walk to sathorn pier before taking the boat ride to chinatown street. Unfortunately, the info that i research online was outdated so when we went there according to my info, we couldn't find the correct place to buy the tickets, eventually we took the tourist boat and paid the boat ticket after boarding the ride. It cost about 40 baht per pax for the boat ride. (As of this blog post date, as i realised their price may differ)
After we alight at the correct stop, we had to walk quite a distance to the chinatown street.
It reminds me just like our Singapore chinatown street, i think it could be that we went on a monday as most shops closed and there were nothing much to see, restaurant/food were limited too. We had bird nest first! Chilled bird nest.
We went into one of the shop eventually after realising it was the wrong day to visit Chinatown.
We ordered shark fin's soup, fish maw soup, bee hoon & fried rice. This was nice, but i think the next time we would probably take a cab to the right place. Haha
Spicy bee hoon but it was quite nice.
When our full order were served! Our last night sumptuous meal before we leave Bangkok tomorrow! Hahaha.
After our dinner, JJ was telling us we could try to walk back to the nearest BTS as he say it was not a very long distance, so our walking journey starts again. Everywhere looks almost deserted with all door closed.
While walking, Jieying was asking us if we noticed the moon is so round and bright! She added on, saying she heard it was some eclipse like the moon only appeared in the usual typical every 25 years or 100 years news. We have heard so much of these news that we were immune, it doesn't interest us, so both JJ & I was telling her that ' aiya, everytime they come out with such news, nothing special' Even though i do notice the moon was very bright & round. But i thought maybe because our surrounding was dark and that is why the moon look especially bright & round as we walked through the dark alley/streets again.
This was the nearest BTS station that we found walking from chinatown area.
No one in sight. Even though the train is not exactly empty though.
Later on, when we went back to Big C supermarkets, and i was using my phone before we start to see our facebook feed flooding with this supermoon news, like the moon that we had conveniently dismissed it away without giving a serious look is actually the supermoon that is the biggest & brightest in 60 years! We saw it but we didn't took a photo of it. Later on we realised we did not take Jieying's word seriously which was quite funny. Hahaha. My friend did send me a photo that they saw in Singapore. The Supermoon. Hahaha
We went back to our hotel with more burgers, all our tarts nicely packed in fridge.
I arranged all the luggage properly first for easy packing of our stuffs. Junjie's
Mine
Jieying's
We were procrastinating after looking at the whole entire room full of our stuffs everywhere.
This pile belongs to Jieying. Haha
This was mine.
Junjie has the least compared to us. Haha
We decided to play poker cards instead of packing the stuffs first.
I think the rules of the game was whoever win can eat the burger. Hahaha, this game was taking too long.
Jieying's 6d5n purchase. Haha
We arranged it so neat!
Junjie's
Till then.
